    Biografía

  • Eugenio Figueroa es profesor titular del Departamento de Economía de la Facultad de Economía y Negocios. Además, es Director del Centro de Economía de los Recursos Naturales y el Medio Ambiente (CENRE); Director, Centro de Economía Sustentable y Cambio Climático (CESUCC). 
    Ha trabajado como consultor económico para gobiernos e instituciones en África, Asia, Europa y las Américas. Ha conducido proyectos de investigación y consultoría para organismos multilaterales e internacionales como el Banco Mundial, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, PNUD, PNUMA, FAO y agencias de desarrollo de Alemania, Canadá, España, Estados Unidos, Finlandia, Japón, Noruega, Suecia y Chile.
    Ocupó la Carthy Chair del Department of Marketing, Business Economics and Law (MBEL), de la Faculty of Business de la University of Alberta, Canadá (1998-2000). Fue Director Ejecutivo del Centro Nacional del Medio Ambiente (CENMA) 2003-2008. Además fue miembro del Committe for Development Policy (CDP) del United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) en New York (2000 al 2006). 
    Ha publicado 14 libros, 39 capítulos de libros y más de 200 artículos en revistas científicas, académicas, técnicas y profesionales. 
    Ha trabajado en varios países en el diseño, implementación y evaluación de proyectos y programas de política pública relacionados a recursos naturales, medio ambiente, desarrollo económico, producción y exportaciones agrícolas, desarrollo urbano y rural, y negocios internacionales.
