Biography

José Manuel Paz y Miño is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. José Manuel holds a Ph.D. in Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics from Indiana University Bloomington.

His areas of specialization are industrial organization and applied microeconomics. In his research he has addressed the behavior of firms, particularly in the area of collusion and competition. In the first semester of 2024 he will teach the Applied Economics course and in the second semester the second part of the Advanced Methods of Empirical Industrial Organization course in the graduate programs.

Prior to his arrival at DECON, José Manuel was an assistant professor at the Catholic University of Uruguay and a research assistant and instructor at Indiana University Bloomington.

Industrial organization and applied microeconomics.
