Economics and Art come together in a surprising innovative project.
Andrés Gómez-Lobos, a FEN academic, and Carlos Orrego, a software engineer and entrepreneur, recently launched a project that involves creating large-scale works of art using a technique called "algorithmic art."
Carlos and Andrés incorporate real economic data to produce "data art" works. Art is a mechanism to interpret and understand reality and these artists seek to show the beauty of data through its behaviour and patterns. They feel that it is their duty to explore the most diverse areas of our existence and make the invisible visible.
Some of these works have already been acquired by the Inter-American Development Bank, where you can now see the following exhibition: www.iadb.org/en/exhibitions/data-circles
