Seventy International Students Join FEN for the First Semester of 2025
The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEN) has welcomed 70 exchange students who will be attending the institution during the first semester of 2025. In an orientation session organized by the International Office, students from 29 universities across 15 countries embarked on their academic journey in Chile.
Dean José De Gregorio, alongside Vice Dean Enrique Manzur, led the reception for the incoming students, assuring them that they had made the right choice by selecting FEN UChile as their study destination.
María Eugenia Jiménez, Head of the International Office at FEN, highlighted the faculty’s prestige as an academic hub and its commitment to internationalization: "FEN has established itself as a leading institution in Latin America for international students seeking academic excellence in economics and business. Every year, we welcome students from top universities worldwide, reflecting the confidence in our academic quality and global impact. At the same time, this exchange strengthens the internationalization of our own students by providing them with opportunities to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives, preparing them to tackle the challenges of a globalized world."
This year, FEN hosts a particularly strong cohort of international students, with 17 from France and 11 from the United States, in addition to students from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Spain, Finland, England, Italy, the Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, and Sweden. These students represent prestigious academic institutions, including the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, Université de Lille, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and the University of South Carolina, among others.
Student exchange programs play a key role in fostering a global perspective in higher education, enabling the exchange of diverse cultures and academic approaches. With this new cohort of international students, FEN reaffirms its commitment to global engagement and knowledge exchange, strengthening its position as a leader in international academic collaboration.
