FEN holds its first hybrid lecture at Universidad de Chile

For the past moths, the Faculty of Economics and Business has been working on the technological and physical adaptation of classrooms and other areas to be able to foster a hybrid teaching space. Different faculty units have also worked on the design of a meticulous protocol, requested by both health authorities and Universidad de Chile, centered on the care and safety of students, academic faculty and support staff members.

In light of the above, FEN’s associate dean, Professor Enrique Manzur, was able to teach the first hybrid lecture of the entire Universidad de Chile, corresponding to the lecture on Consumer Behavior, part of the Master of Marketing version 2020.

“We are very satisfied with the result of this first pilot experience. Modifying and implementing our spaces has been an important challenge for us. We have received essential feedback and we will continue working to consolidate this model in all our doctorate, MBA and master's programs”, indicates Professor Mauricio Jara, director of FEN UCHILE Graduate School.

For her part, Camila Fuenzalida, director of digital media at Metrix Moovmedia Group, believes that “the technical implementation was very well done, a highquality class was delivered.”. In-person interactions, as well as those seen by my colleagues who were on the Webex platform, were much more active as well as longer”.

"I think it is great that the Faculty of Economics and Business is encouraging this flexible approach to give students the possibility of choosing between attending in-person or remote learning, maintaining the same standard and quality that allows for adequate levels of retention of the content being taught,” says Óscar Moraga, head of marketing and remote channels at Avis Budget Group.
