UChile's Executive MBA Ranks Among the Top 50 in the World According to QS Rankings
The ranking compiled by the British consulting firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is one of the most reputable worldwide, conducting three MBA rankings annually: Online, Global, and Executive.
Within the Executive ranking, QS measures “Career Development" (salary increase and job promotions one year after graduation), "Diversity" (gender and nationality within the most recent class), "Employer Reputation" (employers' perception of the quality of graduates, measured in an international survey), "Executive Profile of Students" (years of management experience and job categories), and "Academic Leadership of the University" (global academics' perception of academic excellence, measured in an international survey).
Measured in these dimensions, the Executive MBA of the University of Chile rose from fourth to second place this year at the regional level and maintains its 50th position globally.
Rodrigo Uribe, professor and director of the Graduate School of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEN) at the University of Chile, explained, “As FEN, we are truly proud of this achievement. Being the number one public university in Latin America and nationally, as well as ranking 50th worldwide in the QS Executive MBA Ranking 2024, is a significant recognition not only for our MBA team but for our entire institution. We firmly believe that business education at a public, excellent university optimally combines the need for efficient, productive, and innovative organizations with a commitment to Chile and its comprehensive development. This achievement is a recognition of that vision, as well as to an innovative curriculum, a high-quality faculty, and a great alumni network,” he noted.
“We are very pleased with the prominent position achieved by the UChile MBA among the top 50 in the world in the 2024 Global Executive MBA Rankings. This is not a one-time result but has been consistent over time and is added to a series of other leadership positions in Chile, Latin America, and the world in various other international rankings. This reinforces and confirms the high quality of the program and the University of Chile in the area of management and business administration,” said Christian Diez, MBA director of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Chile.
Diez commented that these good results are due to several factors. Firstly, the broad recognition and prestige of the University of Chile as one of the best institutions in Latin America. Secondly, the excellence in training, world-class applied research, and relevant managerial experience of the professors in this program. “Finally, but not least, is the high academic level and professional performance of our students and graduates who test and apply the knowledge and skills learned in their respective careers and work trajectories daily, whether from the entrepreneurship of new businesses, leading different areas of a company to high executive positions in major organizations,” Diez highlighted.
EMPLOYER REPUTATION
In the measurement, the UChile Executive MBA obtained its best indicators in the category of employer reputation, ranking 41st globally, with 12 points above the world average. Regarding the academic quality of the University, the program ranked 47th with a score 13 points above the world average, making UChile’s EMBA one of the best in the world. This is both in terms of the employability prospects of its graduates and the leadership of its academic staff.
Another index that improved compared to the 2023 measurement was Career Development, where the program moved from 86th to 58th globally and from fourth to third regionally. In this indicator, graduates reported a 47% increase in income 12 months after graduation and 75% reported a job promotion during that period. Both percentages show significant improvements in the employment situation of graduates pre- and post-MBA, surpassing the results of the best MBAs in the country.
